Frequently Asked Questions

How is MTCEWE different from MTCWE? +
MTCWE focuses on wireless engineering: 802.11, PTP, Nstreme/NV2, troubleshooting. MTCEWE focuses on enterprise deployment: CAPsMAN centralized management, RF planning, site surveys, 802.1X — managing WiFi at building/campus scale.
How many APs can CAPsMAN manage? +
CAPsMAN has no hard limit — depends on controller router resources. Deployments of hundreds of APs are common. The course teaches architecture design for large scale — controller sizing, failover, load distribution.
What tools are needed for site surveys? +
The course uses tools built into MikroTik RouterOS (wireless scan, frequency usage, sniffer). No external site survey software required — however the trainer introduces workflows combining with specialized tools.
Is MTCWE a prerequisite? +
MikroTik requires MTCNA. MTCWE is not mandatory for MTCEWE, but strongly recommended — wireless fundamentals from MTCWE significantly accelerate CAPsMAN and RF planning comprehension.
Is MikroTik 60GHz Wireless Wire covered? +
Yes. 60GHz point-to-point bridging (Wireless Wire) is introduced in the context of building/campus connectivity — use cases, limitations, and comparison with 5GHz PTP links.
Is enterprise security (802.1X) covered in MTCEWE? +
Yes. 802.1X enterprise authentication is an important part of MTCEWE — RADIUS integration, dynamic VLAN assignment, certificate-based auth for enterprise WiFi.
