Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need IPv6 knowledge before attending? +
Not mandatory but recommended to understand basic IPv6 addressing and differences from IPv4. The course starts from fundamentals but progresses quickly into advanced content.
Is MTCNA a mandatory prerequisite? +
Yes. A valid MTCNA certificate (not expired, within 3 years) is a mandatory requirement set by MikroTik. No exceptions.
Is IPv6 widely adopted in Vietnam? +
Vietnam has over 50% IPv6 adoption rate — among the highest in Southeast Asia. Major ISPs (Viettel, VNPT, FPT) have deployed dual-stack. Engineers need IPv6 proficiency to operate current and future infrastructure.
Which transition mechanisms are most commonly used? +
Dual-stack is RIPE-recommended and most common. 6RD for ISPs deploying quickly over IPv4 infrastructure. DS-Lite for ISPs conserving IPv4 addresses. The course analyzes pros and cons of each method.
How is IPv6 firewall different from IPv4? +
IPv6 firewall on MikroTik has a similar structure to IPv4 but must handle ICMPv6 carefully — blocking wrong ICMPv6 will break NDP and SLAAC. The course teaches best practices for IPv6 firewall rules without affecting network functionality.
Which certification should I take after MTCIPv6E? +
MTCRE (routing) to apply IPv6 in complex routed networks — OSPFv3 and IPv6 tunneling. Or MTCSE (security) to implement IPv6 firewall and advanced ICMPv6 filtering.
